After analyzing site constraints and the client’s preferences the area for the architectural expression was the pool pavilion ceiling.

This now mimics a cloudscape and embeds it into architectural form.
Using truncated, rebated, ceiling forms that stop and start, push and pull, slide and separate, letting in natural sky light and then introducing artificial light to add complexity to the lighting experience.
Spaces appear like the dramatic light changes made by the clouds scudding across the seascape outside. This architectural form for the clouds provokes gentle meditation.
Inspired by the natural world it is a solution that calms the spirit by locating the body within a powerful landscape. A space of spiritual repose.
Through suspension in architecture the bather can metaphorically float beyond into the landscape.
